Mississauga Crime of the Week

2007-4a

The public’s assistance is required in assisting police in solving a theft, where investigators believe that a distraction was created in order for the thief to commit his crime.

On Monday February 26th, 2007, at approximately 2:30pm, the victim was operating his vehicle on Cantay Road and McLaughlin Road. He had a briefcase in the vehicle which contained the Esso fuel company's weekend deposit. The complainant was intending to deposit the money at the bank when the vehicle received a flat tire.

Out of no where the suspect appeared quickly on foot offering assistance with the changing of the tire. The victim refused his help. The complainant returned to his vehicle noticing the driver’s door slightly ajar and the money brief case missing.

The suspect is described as: male, olive skin complexion, 28-30 years, 5'8", thin build, short black hair, wearing a red and blue puffy jacket.
