Crime of the Week - Brampton

Release #: 2007 - 35b

RASH OF BREAK-INS IN BRAMPTON NEIGHBOURHOOD

Multiple residents in a Brampton neighbourhood have been the victim of Break–ins over a two-week period, and investigators from the 21 Division Break and Enter Unit are urging you to call Crime Stoppers to assist in apprehending the thieves.

Between November 22nd and December 10th of this year, 9 separate homes on Brussels Avenue, in the Heart Lake Road and Sandalwood Parkway area, have been broken into, and a significant amount of personal items, jewellery and electronic equipment has been stolen, including a 52 inch flat screen television. Investigators believe that the thieves have been going door–to–door to check if anyone is at home prior to the Break–in. Entry has most likely been gained through the front door of the residence, and has most commonly occurred between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and noon.

There is no cause for alarm to area residents; however residents are encouraged to be ever-diligent in making observations of individuals in the neighbourhood who appear to be acting suspiciously.
