PICK – UP BASKETBALL GAME TURNS VIOLENT
An innocent man waiting to play basketball at an outdoor court was violently assaulted, and Peel Crime Stoppers hopes your anonymous call will help catch the attacker.
On Wednesday July 25, 2007, just after 7:30 in the evening, the victim and a friend were waiting to join in a three on three pick up basketball game at an outdoor court on the University of Toronto at Mississauga campus. A male who was playing on the court at the time became involved in an argument with the victim. This male ran towards the victim and struck him, sucker-punch style, several times in the face and stomped on the victim’s head, rendering him unconscious. This male then fled the campus in a westbound direction along Outer University Road.
The suspect is described as male, white, 22 – 25 years of age, 6 ‘ tall, weighing 210 – 220 pounds. He had short brown hair and stubble on his face. He was wearing a white tank top, black or blue shorts, and may have had a European accent.
The victim suffered facial fracturing as a result of the attack.
