MISSISSAUGA WOMAN ATTACKED IN EARLY MORNING HOURS
Investigators from the Special Victims Unit and Peel Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in an early morning assault.
On Monday, June 11th, 2007 at 5:40 a.m., a 70 year old woman and resident of Mississauga, was out walking in the area of Britannia Road and Tenth Line. While walking, the woman was suddenly grabbed from behind, by an unknown man. The suspect began making sexual remarks to the victim, who immediately began to scream and kick. When the suspect released the victim’s wrist, she fell to the ground, scraping her elbow. She also sustained a sore wrist from where the suspect grabbed her. The suspect fled on foot, traveling southbound across Britannia Road.
The male suspect is described as black, in his early 20’s, approximately 6’0 tall with a slim build. He has short, curly brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect was wearing long black shorts with thick white and thin yellow vertical stripes and a matching black shirt with a wide white horizontal stripe across the chest. He also had white Nike running shoes.
Once the suspect fled the scene, the victim was approached by a taxi cab driver, who was traveling eastbound on Britannia Road, in a black cab. He made a U-turn and stopped to check on the victim’s well-being. Investigators from the Special Victims Unit would like to speak to the driver of the taxi regarding the incident, and are appealing for him to come forward.
