Mississauga Crime of the Week

Release #: 2007 - 16a

  ELDERLY MISSISSAUGA MAN ROBBED

 

An elderly Mississauga man was robbed and assaulted while in his own home, and an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers can help investigators arrest the thugs responsible for this senseless crime.

 

On Thursday April 5, 2007 just after midnight, the 81 year-old victim was alone at this residence on Mississauga Road. Three men broke into the residence via a rear door, grabbed the victim, threatening violence, and bound his hands with rope. One of the suspects threw a towel over the victim’s face and slapped him.

 

The suspects spent a considerable amount of time searching the home, eventually making off with over $50,000 in cash, jewellery and other personal items. The victim suffered injuries during the incident, requiring 2 staples to close a large gash on his forehead.

 

The three suspects have been described as:

 

1. male, dark complexion, 30-40 years of age, 5’6” tall, medium build, wearing dark clothing and a black balaclava. He wore plastic shopping bags on his hands and carried a silver knife with a wooden handle.

2. male. Dark complexion, 30 – 40 years of age, 5’ 11” – 6’ tall, medium build wearing dark clothing, a dark mask and dark gloves

3. same description as suspect #2
