21 Division
General
21 Division is a full service operational division. We have a full uniform contingent, as well as a comprehensive criminal investigation bureau and community liaison office. The division serves the community resting between Highway 410 to the west, Derry Road to the south, Mayfield Road up north and Highway 427/50 to the East.
21 Division is located at 10 Peel Centre Dr, Suite C, Brampton.

Community Liaison Officer & Neighbourhood Policing Unit Priorities
- Working in partnership with the community to reduce incidents of crime and create a feeling of safety in our community.
- Utilize community based initiatives in order to become more interactive and transparent to the public.
- All Peel Regional Police officers within 21 Division respond quickly and effectively to meet the unique needs of the diverse cultural mosaic that makes up our community
Role and Function
Uniform Patrol
This is the most widely recognized role of the police officer in the community. The men and women on patrol are there to respond to your calls for service in a timely and effective manner. For most people uniform officers are their first, and possibly only, contact with this organization. The focus of the uniform officers at 21 Division, when they are not responding to calls for service, is to combat aggressive driving and lawless public behaviour through enforcement.
Traffic Enforcement Unit
This small unit has the primary objective of keeping our streets safe from aggressive, dangerous and impaired drivers. The traffic enforcement unit also works to reduce incidents of motor vehicle collisions resulting in injury or death through enforcement of the Highway Traffic Act and other related statutes.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is responsible for follow up and investigation into all reported criminal offences at 21 Division. Some of the duties of the members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau include:
- Investigation of criminal offences
- Laying of charges where appropriate
- Dealing with victims and accused persons
- Liaising with the Crown Attorney's office
- Management of the court case files
The Criminal Investigation Bureau utilizes special teams that deal with specific types of criminal activity:
Break and Enter & Auto Theft Unit
This group is responsible for the investigation and management of occurrences relating to break and enters to both residences and commercial premises. Their mandate also covers all incidents of auto theft, mischief to autos and thefts from autos as well.
Probation, Recognizance, Observation and Breach Enforcement Unit (P.R.O.B.E)
The main goal of the P.R.O.B.E Unit is to curb recidivism and reduce crime through monitoring and enforcement. This unit is responsible for arrest warrant enforcement, and monitoring the following; probation order compliance, people on recognizance, known sex offenders in the area, parolees and person(s) on temporary absence passes. Special Projects coordinator. This member of the criminal investigation bureau has several responsibilities including: Monitoring and investigating reports of missing persons, reviews all incidents of domestic violence, liaise with external community service providers such as the Wilkinson shelter.
Neighbourhood Policing Unit (N.P.U.)
These officers work primarily with high school students and staff to maintain a presence with our youth population. They work directly with teachers, parents and other external resources to ensure the young people in our community are headed in the right direction.
Bicycle Patrol Officers
These officers address the parks, pathways and wooded areas of 21 Division. Using the bicycle as their main mode of transportation allows them to get into remote areas more quickly and effectively. Enforcement of lawless public behaviour including field parties, liquor violations and minor drug offences are the main focus of this group. They are also utilized at special functions such as parades and special events.
Community Liaison Officer (C.L.O.)
The 21 Division CLO is Constable Pamela Parkin #2829. She is involved in many community based initiatives. The primary function of the CLO is to interact with the community on a different level than ordinary police contact. The CLO participates in several committees within 21 Division:
- ECLYPSE Drop in Centre - This is a drop-in centre for troubled teens located at the Bramalea City Center. The CLO participates with this committee as a way for both groups to gain insight on issues surrounding troubled youth.
- Brampton Safe City Association - The mission of Brampton Safe City is to educate the public and support programs that make Brampton one of Canada's safest cities. The CLO, area residents, local business, community groups, the City of Brampton all take part in this community effort.
