Message From the Chair of The Historical Committee
A short while ago, a few members of our Service have come together with a view of preserving the history of The Peel Regional Police. The ultimate goal would be to create a museum for our Service. The creation of a museum is obviously a major undertaking and will take years to plan, organize and implement.
One major issue in determining the feasibility of creating a museum is to identify what articles (photographs, artefacts, etc) are available for this purpose.
Our organization is fortunate to have a proud history and a strong membership who contributed to our proud heritage. I am requesting assistance from these members. The many men and women both police and civilian would serve as the contributors to this project. I am seeking two things from our members. First, input as to what the members would see as important in terms of what should be on display. Second, what artefacts (articles) are available for display.
We are in the process of discussing and developing the logistics of collecting, documenting, cataloguing, storing and displaying these articles.
I am open to member’s ideas and would like input on what articles and photographs that members are willing to share either on a loan basis or as a permanent donation.
I believe it is vital to preserve our proud heritage and to display the many progressions and accomplishments that were achieved as a result of our members, both serving and retired.
I can be reached at 905 453-3311 extension 4740 or e-mail
I appreciate the support of the members and any consideration that can be given to this matter.
Respectfully, M. Grodzinski, Inspector Chair, Peel Regional Police Historical Committee
