Over the years, the members and staff of the Peel Regional Police have continued to research new ideas, develop new programs, and to question some of the standard practices in policing in this area. To do this they have examined methods and programs used by other agencies, and operating and management principles current in the business and manufacturing world. We are noted as a leader in our field, and on occasion our desire to shake the paradigm has led to recognition by our peers and others. In November 1994, at the Annual Conference of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies Inc., Peel Regional Police became the fifth police service in Canada, and the first in Ontario, to achieve accreditation. We take great pride in achieving this level of professionalism, and we proudly display the CALEA logo on all of our vehicles.
